Keel was founded in 2021 by three former executives—CEO, CTO, and CPO—from Echo, Europe's fastest-growing online pharmacy, later acquired by Pharmacy2U. At Echo, the team built and operated custom fulfilment software to ship 50,000 medicines to 600,000 customers daily, scaling the business to $130 million in annual revenue. They experienced first-hand how off-the-shelf systems couldn't keep pace, so they built Keel—the platform they wished had existed. Keel is Planko Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom and headquartered in Altrincham, Cheshire. In 2024, Keel raised $6 million in seed funding from leading European investors Earlybird and LocalGlobe, accelerating its mission to give every fast-moving operations team the flexible, powerful fulfilment tools they truly own.
