Keel was founded in 2021 by three former executives from Echo—Europe's fastest-growing online pharmacy, later acquired by Pharmacy2U. As CEO, CTO, and CPO at Echo, the founders built custom software to run operations that shipped 50,000 medicines to 600,000 customers daily, scaling the business to $130 million in annual revenue. They built Keel because they experienced first-hand how inflexible legacy software couldn't keep pace with a rapidly scaling business. They wanted to build the platform they wished had existed—one that gives operators everywhere the same competitive advantage that custom tooling gave them at Echo.
