CAREERS

We built the company we've always dreamed of

We're committed to creating a culture where everyone feels safe to be who they are and empowered to do their best work.

We're solving hard problems and want to do the best work of our lives together, but that doesn't mean spending our lives at work. This is one of the reasons that we're a remote-first team, so you can work when and where you're at your best without missing those precious daily life moments.

REMOTE FIRST

We're finding the right balance

We're building this together and will keep iterating so that we create a truly inclusive and diverse culture that's defined by actions rather than just words.

RETREATS

We believe face-to-face interaction is crucial for building relationships, which is why we organise a 5-day retreat every 3 months to strengthen team bonds and celebrate our achievements together.

MENTAL SUPPORT

We know remote work can get lonely and recognise the importance of mental health support for our small but fully remote team, so we have partnered with Oliva to offer access to qualified therapists whenever needed.

CHILDCARE

Juggling parenting and work responsibilities is hard, that's why we offer support to cover childcare costs, ensuring that all employees, can fully participate in retreat weeks and company gatherings without any additional burden.

VALUES

The principles that guide our actions

01

We trust each other

All relationships are built on trust, and so this is our root value. We’re building a team of immensely talented, smart and kind people, and we trust them from day one. Everyone at Keel should feel ownership of their work and a corresponding responsibility to give their best whilst here.

A big part of our culture is genuinely flexible working hours. We focus on outcomes, and we trust our team to decide how and when to work, including when to take time off. We know some of the best thinking can happen while walking in the woods or when visiting the monkeys in the zoo. Take that walk. Go see the monkeys.

02

We work in the open

People make better decisions when they have all the context, so we believe that wherever possible work should happen out in the open for all to see. We love doing demos, we share our work and our thoughts early and often, and we welcome comments and criticism.

We use Slack to asynchronously keep others updated on what we’re doing, and we use Notion so that everyone can follow the evolution of our work. We believe that it's not possible to over-communicate and encourage everyone to proactively share what they're working on.

03

We care about the details

Whatever we’re doing, we pay attention to the little things. Those small details that give something a sense of quality and show that love and care went into making it. This isn’t about perfection though but rather about seeing a Minimal Lovable Product as the bar for something being ready to go out into the world - whether that’s our Alpha product or new feature releases.

We want Keel to be a great place to work, so we take the time to check in on our team mates. We invest time in getting to know each other as people, so that we can be there for each other when times are tough.

04

We tell stories

We believe one of the best ways to communicate is to tell a story. This might be the story of why we started Keel, the story behind a new feature, or a story about what our customers can achieve through using our product. These narratives give us a shared understanding of where we’ve been and where we’re going.

When we tell stories about the future we imagine a world that hasn’t happened yet and imagine our place in it. It’s through telling these stories, and attempting to bring them to life, that we will be truly innovative.

05

We succeed as a team

We root for each other and love to see others succeed. Our decisions and behaviours are driven by the pursuit of our collective success. When we find ourselves in front of an obstacle, we aim to stay positive and support each other until we find a way forward.

When we find ourselves in conflict or disagreement, we don’t try to force our opinions on others, but rather listen and seek to understand their point of view. We respect the unique contribution of every team member and treat each other with tolerance and care.

HIRING PROCESS

Here's what to expect

STEP 1

Intro call

30-mins

This is an informal call to learn more about you, your motivations for joining the team, and see if we're a good match. Bring your questions - we're here to answer them!

STEP 2

Technical
interview

1 hour

Based on your role, this interview is to assess your skills and look at how your experience will apply at Keel. We'll come with lots of questions and there'll be space for you to ask us more, too.

STEP 3

Product interview

1 hour + prep

We'll look closer at your product thinking and your ability to work with other technical disciplines.

For some roles, this might be swapped out for a leadership and management interview.

STEP 4

Values interview

1 hour

This interview is to get a stronger sense of what you care about and how you like to work. We want to understand your communication and collaboration style, what's most important to you, and the role you play in a team.

STEP 5

Meet the team

1 hour

This is a chance to meet other members of the team who you'd likely be working with. Let us know if there's someone in particular you'd like to meet and we'll make it happen.

STEP 6

Offer

1 hour

We'll discuss the offer with you. We don't go outside our pre-published salary bands but we'll be open and transparent from the outset so you should already know what to expect.

TESTIMONIAL

“It’s rare you find a company that is so focused on building both an exceptional product and culture from so early on."
